SWP Calculator

Calculate your final amount with Systematic Withdrawal Plans (SWP).

About this SWP calculator

A Systematic Withdrawal Plan lets you take out a fixed amount from your mutual fund investment at regular intervals, usually monthly. It is a popular way to create a steady income stream from a corpus, often used by retirees or anyone needing regular cash flow without selling everything at once.

This calculator starts with your total investment, deducts your monthly withdrawal, and grows the remaining balance at the expected annual return. It runs month by month for the chosen period and reports the value left at the end, along with the total amount withdrawn.

The result assumes a constant return and no further contributions. If your withdrawal rate is higher than the return, the corpus shrinks and may even run out before the period ends. If it is lower, the balance grows. This is why choosing a sustainable withdrawal rate matters.

Use it to test whether a planned pension-style income is realistic. Try different withdrawal amounts to see how long your corpus lasts. Keep in mind taxes, exit loads and market volatility in real life, and review your plan with a financial adviser.
